My husband Lord Heron and I live some miles from Hexham, at Chipchase Castle. The Bailiff has invited us to a feast in the great hall at the top of the Moothall, which will be held after he has tried and sentenced the prisoners from the gaol. We are used to eating the best quality food and drink and being waited on hand and foot. Sometimes we eat our food off silver plates. We can easily afford the expensive spices that flavour our food.
